Privacy Policy

You are trusting us with your baby's face and your family's names. That trust — amanah — is the whole business. This page says, in plain words, exactly what we collect, who touches it, and how you can have it deleted.

In short

• We collect only what making your book requires.
• Your photos and details are used only to make what you ordered.
• We never sell or rent your information. Ever.
• We run no advertising and no advertising tracking.
• We never use your photos or information to train any model or AI system.
• We never market to children. This is a service for adults.
• You can ask us to delete your photos and details at any time, and we will — and ask our production partners to delete theirs too.

Who we are

First Circle makes The Family Book — a personalised board book of a baby's own family — at books.ourfirstcircle.com. For anything about privacy, write to hello@ourfirstcircle.com or use our contact page. We reply within one business day.

What we collect, and why

• The buyer's details — name, email address, and the delivery address — so we can take the order, keep you updated, and deliver the finished book.
• The family's details — the baby's name, and for each person in the book: their name as the family writes it, what the baby calls them, their relation to the baby, the place they live, one true line about them, and a photo. Nothing more.
• Payment is handled entirely by Stripe, our payment provider. Your card details go to Stripe, never to us — we do not see or store card numbers.
• Order records — what was ordered, what was paid, and the proof you approved — so we can stand behind the book, handle reprints, and keep proper accounts.

Who helps make a book

A printed book cannot be made by one pair of hands, so a small number of partners handle a small part of your order. Here is exactly who sees what:

• Our website hosting and secure file storage run the site and hold your photos and order details, under our instructions.
• Stripe processes your payment. Stripe receives the payment details and the buyer's contact details Stripe needs — never your family's photos.
• Our book printer receives only the finished, print-ready pages of your book — which means the photos and names printed in it. That is what printing is. Before we send any family's book to a production partner, we require their written confirmation that files are used only for that order. The printed books come to us first for a hands-on quality check, so the printer never receives your family's address.
• Our presentation-box supplier receives no family names or photos at all — our boxes carry only the First Circle brand.
• Delivery carriers receive only the recipient's name and address, at the final shipping step, so the parcel can arrive.

Nobody else receives your information, and nobody receives it for their own purposes.

Consent, withdrawal, and deletion

As a book is built, we ask for each person's consent to appear in it. Anyone may change their mind: tell us, and that person is removed from the book and their photo and details are deleted.

At any time — before, during, or after an order — you can ask us to delete the photos and details you gave us, by email or the contact form. We will delete them from our systems and ask every production partner who received that book's files to delete theirs too, then confirm to you when it is done. Deleting your photos never affects money: it is separate from refunds and cancellations, which are covered in our returns & reprints policy.

We keep order and payment records only as long as the law and proper accounting require, and we keep them separate from your photos.

Children

First Circle is ordered by adults. A child's name and photo are provided by their parent or guardian, or with their consent, and a child never uses this site or gives us information directly.

Cookies

We use only the essential cookies needed to run the site and remember an order in progress. There are no advertising cookies and no third-party trackers following you around the internet.

Your rights

You may ask us at any time what information we hold about your family, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Write to hello@ourfirstcircle.com and we will answer within one business day and act promptly.

Changes to this policy

If we ever change this policy in a way that affects your photos, we will say so plainly on this page before the change applies to new orders. What we promised when you ordered stays promised for your order.
