How does it work?
In four steps: you build the book and pay; you add each person's photo and details; you approve a proof of the actual pages — nothing prints without your approval; then we print it, check it by hand, and deliver it to your door.
How long does it take?
Most books arrive in about three weeks from payment. Every book is made to order and passes a hands-on quality check with us before it is sent on. The full picture is on our delivery page.
What photos work best?
A recent photo with the face large and clear, looking towards the camera — one person per photo. Originals from the phone are perfect; screenshots and heavily compressed copies are softer in print. If a photo is too soft to print well, we ask for another at the proof stage. We never print a face a baby couldn't recognise.
Which languages can the book be in?
The book's text comes in English, Spanish, and Urdu, and more languages as families ask for them. Names are different: they print exactly as your family writes them, in your own script — a name is never translated or re-spelled by us.
Can I gift it, if the photos live with the parents?
Yes — that is how many books begin. You order and pay; the baby's parents receive the order's private link and add the photos and details themselves, in their own time. Nothing prints until they approve the proof.
What if someone doesn't want to be in the book?
Then they are not in it. We ask for each person's consent as the book is built, and anyone can be removed at any time — just tell us, and their photo and details are deleted too.
Can I get a second copy?
Yes — a second copy of the same book is $32, chosen when you build the book. Families often send one to grandparents, so the same faces are being named in two homes.
What ages is the book for?
It is made for a baby's first year: thick board pages she can hold, chew on, and point at while you name the faces together. Older toddlers often keep loving theirs — the first year is what we promise.
How do I delete our photos?
Any time, for any reason: email hello@ourfirstcircle.com or use the contact form. We delete them from our systems, ask our production partners to delete the files they received, and confirm to you when it is done. Our privacy policy explains it fully.
Do I need an account?
No. There are no accounts and no passwords here — each order has its own private link, and the link is the key. Keep it somewhere safe, the way you would a key.
